The Fenerbahce player is expected to finalise his move to Arsenal within the next 48 hours. It is activity from Arsene Wenger which goes some way to revitalising the defence which was battered by Manchester United on Sunday as the manager seeks to find a left back as a replacement for both Gael Clichy, now of City, and Armand Traore, who will soon be a QPR player.
Reports from the Turkish news site NTV Sport claim that Fenerbahce and Arsenal have agreed a fee for the player, who joined the Turkish side in 2009.
In May, the European Champions Barcelona were linked with Santos, but he is currently said to be on his way to London to sign a four year contract with Wenger's side.
